# Compliance Explorer FAQ

> Answers that apply across Compliance Explorer: access, reading a record and issuer claims.

Questions about one screen stay on that screen's page. This page holds the ones that apply everywhere.

## Access and data

<AccordionGroup>
  <Accordion title="Do I need an account to search?">
    No. Search and every public record field are open to anyone.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Is public data free to use?">
    Public record fields are open to view without an account. For programmatic access, use the [Explorer API](/api/explorer/overview).
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Why are source documents gated when the sources are public?">
    The gate covers the documents Bluprynt has gathered, the verbatim quotes taken from them, collateral and capital-flow analysis, and the complete disclosure record. The **Source:** links on public fields still point to the original pages.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Can I search from my own systems?">
    No. Search and the registry records serve the Explorer website only. The [Explorer API](/api/explorer/overview) covers tokenomics changes and your own watchlist, monitoring changes and notifications. For other programmatic access, ask [product@bluprynt.com](mailto:product@bluprynt.com).
  </Accordion>

## Reading a record

<AccordionGroup>
  <Accordion title="Is the disclosure percentage a risk score?">
    No. It counts how many checklist items are on record. It says nothing about whether the asset is safe.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Does 'Not disclosed' mean the issuer is hiding something?">
    No. It means the registry holds no evidenced value. The issuer may publish it somewhere the registry hasn't read yet.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Can Bluprynt fill a missing item with an estimate?">
    No. Items count only when a source supports them. Missing items stay missing.
  </Accordion>
</AccordionGroup>

## Issuers

<AccordionGroup>
  <Accordion title="Can an issuer correct its own record?">
    Yes. It can click **Claim this profile**, verify through [KYI](/tools/kyi) and then publish disclosures in [Bluprynt Passport](/passport/overview).
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="What happens after an issuer claims its profile?">
    It creates an issuer account, verifies a control wallet and continues in [Bluprynt Passport](/passport/overview), where it completes [KYI](/tools/kyi) and publishes disclosures. The record then shows **KYI verified**.
